| San Diego Auto Museum May 19, 2003 |
It may be a sign that I am spoiled by the quality of the last event I went to (Deutsche Marque Concours), but this museum was a bit of a disappointment. A few nice cars but overall, a lot of medicore examples. Pair that with poor lighting and ropes in all the pictures and you've got a recipe for a disapointing experience. On the upside, the featured marquee was BMW and there was an M1 in race trim availible. | No | Yes |

| Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona January 31 - February 2, 2003 |
This year turned out to be a historic year at the 24 Hours. A new class of cars, the Daytona Prototypes were introduced in a attempt to employ NASCAR-type restrictions on the Grand-Am series. The Daytona Prototypes are based on a tube frame with carbon fibre shell with motors based on production motors. The DPs were a flop this year, most of them not for from a DNF for the race including the BMW which was out for about half the race. Even more historic was the first place overall finish of the The Racer's Group #66 Porsche 911 GT3. This was the first time since 1977 that a GT class car has won the overall running of the 24 Hours. | no | Yes |
